Grenadian Soca Artists Ready for International Spotlight

Grenada’s First Soca Music Tour “Jab Decisions” Officially Launched

The Ministry of Tourism, Creative Economy and Culture, through the Grenada Office of Creative Affairs (GOCA), has entered into an exciting partnership with Jevaughn “V’ghn” John’s V’ghn Entertainment to present the “Jab Decisions Tour”. Named after V’ghn and Terra D Governor’s hit single Jab Decisions, an anthem that resonated across Grenada’s Spicemas 2025 and found rhythm on the road at Notting Hill in the UK, the tour brings the energy of Spicemas to the global stage, while boosting international visibility of Grenadian music and culture.

The multi-city tour, produced by V’ghn Entertainment and Top Notch Entertainment with support from Grenada Office of Creative Affairs, Grenada Tourism Authority and Spicemas Corporation, was officially launched on Friday 7th November.

Mr. Orlando Romain, Advisor w.r.f. the Creative Economy, explained the decision to support Grenada’s first soca music tour, which aligns with GOCA’s mandate to support Grenadian cultural and creative exports. “Music is one of our strategic pillars for growth for the creative economy, particularly for its significant export potential,” he stated. “Using the Music Producers’ Project as an example, we have made substantial investments in the capacity and technical development of our local music producers, and we have already started seeing the impact of these investments. This partnership with V’ghn Entertainment supports our commitment to expanding the reach of our creative industries to audiences outside of Grenada.”

Speaking on the significance of the tour, V’ghn, who is the World Intellectual Property Organisation’s first Caribbean ambassador, shared: “This is a great opportunity for Grenada and Grenadians around the world to show our unity and pride in what we have to offer not only for the current generation but also for the youth who will carry on our legacy. The music industry, being one of the largest in the world, holds tremendous potential to positively impact our economy and showcase Grenada’s talent on a global stage.”

From the perspective of the Grenada Tourism Authority, the Jab Decisions Tour to the destination’s major source markets presented a natural synergy for collaboration with the Grenada Office of Creative Affairs and Spicemas Corporation, according to Tornia Charles, Chief Marketing Officer.  “The growing popularity of Grenada’s soca music positions the tour as the perfect opportunity to drive further interest in visitors traveling to the destination, specifically music and event lovers, members of the diaspora and those who want to reconnect with their Caribbean roots,” commented Charles.

Sen. the Hon. Adrian Thomas, Minister for Tourism, Creative Economy and Culture, commended the initiative that strengthens collaboration between the public sector and creative enterprises. “Our government recognizes creativity and innovation as pillars for long-term social and economic development, so we continue to work strategically to increase the economic value of our creative industries through policy development and targeted programming. But we are not able to think of everything. This is why collaboration with our creative community is critical. Our efforts are amplified when we work together.”

Minister Thomas also highlighted how the “Jab Decisions Tour” exemplifies the interconnectedness among tourism, culture and the creative economy. “When our artists step onto the stage in London, New York, Trinidad or Toronto, they are not just performing their hit songs; they are also showcasing Grenada’s rich carnival traditions, like our Jab Jab, and promoting Grenada as a must-visit destination,” he noted.

The “Jab Decisions Tour”, which started in Miami in October, spans seven cities across North America, the UK and the Caribbean.  Joining V’ghn along the tour are some of Grenada’s top soca artists: Terra D Governor, Lil Kerry and Dash, as well as newcomer Dred Lion and Grenadian DJ Selecta Snappy.
