The Grenada Office of Creative Affairs (GOCA), as a division of the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Economy, and Culture, is responsible for creating a favourable environment for increasing the economic value of Grenada’s creative industries. GOCA envisions Grenada as a creative country where innovation and creativity, as well as the preservation and revitalization of national heritage and cultural diversity, are fundamental pillars of long-term social and economic development.
Since launching in 2023, GOCA has championed the development of the creative sector, spearheading multiple initiatives with a strategic focus on policy development, capacity building and training, and economic incentives and funding. These initiatives include the National Creative & Cultural Industries Strategy Project, business development workshops, courses for creatives offered in collaboration with T.A. Marryshow Community College, Concessions for Creatives, and the Cultural and Creative Industries Business Development Fund.
Additionally, GOCA promotes the creative industries as a viable sector for sustainable growth through different public awareness initiatives, including Creative Chronicles, the social media spotlight series, the Creative Careers School Tour, and the GOCA Creative Directory.
For the development & marketing of creative products & services, both tangible and intangible.
We aim to achieve excellence through talent development, nurturing and empowering individuals with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCIs).
We support collaboration, fostering partnerships and networks that inspire groundbreaking ideas and solutions.
Through innovation, we seek to create high-quality creative goods and services while leveraging the richness of our culture to drive economic growth and global trade – as a centre of excellence for skills and talent in the Caribbean and catalyst for CCI exchange and trade across the diverse Grenadian Diaspora.
As a fellow creative, I know firsthand the power of the creative industries to transform lives and shape economies.
